Fallen off the planet?

No! I'm just sick.  My children had a virus last week and now it seems to have attached itself to me.  I've been ill since the middle of last week and I'm still spending the greatest part of every day sleeping.  If I happen to owe you a note, reply, package, what-have-you, please be understanding.  Give me another day or so.  If you don't hear from me by then, feel free to remind me.  Things have been pretty foggy, but I think/hope I'm finally starting to get better!

Springtime in Memphis.

Spring has officially arrived in Memphis.  The dogwoods are in bloom, lining our southern streets with lacy white blossoms. Azaleas burst forth with a glory of pinks from pale to cherry. Non-blooming trees have put out tender green leaves and all is fresh and lush.  If you visit Memphis this time of year, you'll yearn to live here. Visions of sipping iced tea while admiring the garden from the shade of the veranda beckon the innocent visitor. Before ordering the moving van packed, wait a few months and visit again during the roasting, humid summer.  One hasn't truly experienced Memphis until one has scorched the back of one's legs on a leather car seat and had to wrap a spare t-shirt around the steering wheel to protect one's hands! Right now, though, Memphis is a jewel. Enjoy, fellow Memphians! It won't be this way for long!
